Open call for collective animated music video
"deadmau5 and Imogen Heap have set up a global competition for animators to produce a segment of the official video to 'Telemiscommunications'. ...
We want to find 20 animators to make this video with. Each animator will be able to take ownership over their own segment, working in their own styles and mediums and with their own character and background designs. A selected few will also have a brief appearance at the end to tie all the characters into the same scene when they receive the text. We have created a sketch for the length of the video with the position of the character on the screen including a 3D plane so you can see what the camera is doing. This way we can connect the animations together. Also you'll see below each clip we've chosen a colour palette and given some direction for the mood we'd like to have in that section."

A fleeting moment: drawn and animated
"A small test getting a drawing animated. I made one main drawing, and on the following page redrew some elements so I could scan both into Photoshop and cobble together a looping animation. I staggered the elements out over more frames for a little more variation than a simple 2 frame flip."

Wacom Inkling: a digital drawing pen for artists
"Wacom's Inkling pen has caused quite a buzz in the creative community. A ballpoint pen with a tracker in it that records your strokes to a small box you can carry with you, it's been described as the ideal digital tool for artists who prefer real pens to digital substitutes. ...
One key thing to be said about the Inkling is that it's not a replacement for traditional drawing pens. The captured digital files are not a full-quality representation of a drawing. But then Wacom have stated clearly that the Inkling is for sketching -- even if that has been drowned out a little by the overstretching enthusiasm from some online commentators.
'The line was certainly not as crisp as it was hand-drawn,' [illustrator Lizzie Mary Cullen] notes. 'The layer function is amazing but when uploaded some of the layers appeared to have moved ever so slightly. The line simply isn't as true as a scan, and that is exactly why it's for brainstorming, sketching and rough drawings as opposed to polished artworks."
