"This new instrument, known as the 'Grand Letar,' is the invention of Letritia Kandle shown here playing it. She designed it and had it built specially for her. The instrument as 26 strings and a lighting effect that is very new and novel, being he first instrument to change color while it is played.
The string grouping used on the I 'Grand Letar' which has complete harmony has been studied and developed by Miss Kandle over a period of six years, the development being derived from an eighteen string triple–neck Hawaiian guitar which he also designed and had built for her. Miss Kandle has played coast to coast programs over NBC and has done electrical transcription work for RCA. She also has had her own string ensemble for which she did all the arranging.
Miss Kandle demonstrated this instrument at the recent manufacturers convention in New York City."

"In our paper we focus on how design prototypes can foster communications in organizations that deal with the development of innovations. We distinguish the impact of prototypes between two different organizational levels; we first conduct the impact of prototypes at the level of organizational design teams that develop ideas and concepts for solutions. We then focus on the impact of prototypes on the level of organizational teams and departments that have not been part of the initial design phase but are responsible for further developments in the innovation process, e.g. production, financing, and marketing.
Previous research has indicated that prototypes have a significant influence on both organizational levels. Prototypes, in the best cases, can become so–called boundary objects between different domains and stakeholders and may deliver positive effects within the innovation process. However, the successful management of stakeholders in this context remains highly challenging. In this paper we want to address these difficulties as well as the current state of research in this field. We propose that a prototype does not only stand for an important design technique but should moreover be regarded as a management tool that can be integrated into a structured dialogue between stakeholders. We provide first insights on what a structured dialogue, based on prototypes, can mean and what it thereby should imply. We will synthesize prior research findings and begin to develop a concept on how to utilize prototypes as boundary objects from a management perspective."

"Organza aims at improving policy–making in the field of creative industries and to strengthen regional economies by developing and evaluating new policy instruments, sharing experiences between different European regions and medium–sized cities.
To achieve its objectives Organza brings together 13 partners with different models of policy development and which are at different stages of policy making. Since it is a new policy area, methodologies are to be developed to enable partners to compare and contrast the structure of creative industries and the supporting infrastructure within their regions and assess the effectiveness of the many initiatives that have been developed to support them. The information generated will be collated into a major database to facilitate the sharing of information. From this comprehensive collection of data, a limited set of practices is selected for transfer between cities and regions. Focusing on the three stages of the policy process (creation, piloting and implementation), the transfer of experience and good practice will be evaluated by the project partners and the experience widely shared."
