Birth and Death in The Romanian Folk Belief

"Romanian traditions and customs, which accompany the important events of life have been and still are under investigation by researchers in various fields, including folklorists and ethnographers.

The ethnographic research is mostly characterised by concrete information, collected in the studied areas, by a variety of facts, by attempts to describe the accomplishment of each custom and, in some cases by attempts to find out their role and significance in social life. Among these works the first to mention are the volumes published by Simion Florea Marin in Bucuresti in 1892 and dedicated to the three great cycles of customs connected with birth, wedding and death."

Hollyoaks: visually dramatic wedding trailer

"Hollyoaks released its memorable 'Black Wedding' promo as build–up to the upcoming marriage of Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) and Riley Costello (Rob Norbury). Set to the music of Billy Idol's sinister 'White Wedding,' this highly–stylized, artistic trailer was meant to convey the dark, foreboding mood surrounding the event, which was rife with lies, deceit, and even blackmail. Would the very pregnant Mercedes finally cave and confess to Riley that she'd had an affair with his own father, Carl (Paul Opacic), who was serving as his son's best man – or – would she go through with the ceremony ever–fearful that one of the villagers who knew her secret might stand up and tell all? The 45–second video, which was said to have taken 15 hours to film, was directed by Alex Boutell, photographed by Chris Sabogal. and edited by Kel McKeown (host of this1080p HD version at YouTube). And yes, according to Metcalfe, that really was black paint they put in her eye for the final teardrop shot – having joked at the time that it nearly 'killed' her!""

The Chaser banned from taking the royal wee out of Will and Kate's wedding

"Yep, the royal family has banned the ABC's satirical coverage of the royal wedding, only days before it goes to air, despite initially placing no restrictions on the coverage. While the wedding screens on ABC1 on Friday night, The Chaser team was planning to broadcast its own light–hearted look at the spectacle on ABC2.

Over the Easter weekend, restrictions were put in place – banning use of the wedding footage 'in any drama, comedy, satirical or similar entertainment program or content'. While The Chaser coverage has been banned, channels Nine and Ten are still planning to use commentators such as Dame Edna Everage as part of their coverage. Clarence House, the private office of the Prince of Wales, has gone as far as to warn other media outlets not to supply a feed to The Chaser team. Hopefully they'll still manage to use new social media tools to get the word out on Friday night."
